It all started with looking for that perfect addition to our family...

Some years back my husband and I started discussing the possibility of adding a dog to our family. We
both agreed that our children were losing out on a great part of life by not having a dog in our home, and
that's how it all began.
After a lot of research we narrowed breeds down to one, and that was the Rhodesian Ridgeback. We
checked out alot of sites and I started calling RRCUS breeders in the state we lived in at the time and
neighboring states.

* Some were not willing to take in a person new to the breed.
* Some simply weren't expecting any litters in the near future.
* One was everything I could have hoped for, and then some.

Marie Cotton of Spring Valley Rhodesian Ridgebacks came in to our lives then. Marie is a sweet hard
working and honest woman who I connected with immediately. I inquired about a pet pup and we chatted
about the life we'd offer one of her pups. At first she had told me of a litter they expected in two months and
that if there were any pet quality pups she would reserve one for us. After talking a bit longer she said "Well
I do have the perfect dog for you now, but he is show quality."
Fast forward a year and a few states and I'm showing Titus for myself with ever positive mentors and really
enjoying myself in the sport.
I feel I am very fortunate to have some of the best mentors the breed has to offer and the friendships that go
along with them. Here are a few people in the Spring Valley family that have stood by my side and mean
the world to me that have not been mentioned yet:

* Liz Mansfield - Liz has been an outstanding source of information and has always answered every tiny
question I've had on the breed and in handling. She is amazing.
* Dennis MacMullin and Linda Ruth - These two own the father of my boys and I consider them to be family.
Again, they have been a great source of information for me and have been supportive in everything we've
approached.
* Heather Trapasso and Patricia Sanza - Owners of the dam's of my boys and great women.

Marie graciously allowed me to use her kennel's name in my own, and I will be forever greatful to her for the
honor.
